This week’s meeting featured Dr Brian Luliamo. He spoke about concussions in football and other sports .He is a board certified and experienced neurosurgeon. He currently serves as the Neurosurgery Medical Director at Providence. He said that 10-20% of high school football players get a concussion every year.

Happy Bucks by Robert Coit
- Manuela was happy to be back from Canada.
- Our other Student was also happy to be back.
- Leslie Johnson was happy that some German authors were in town for a special tour, also the Lower Elwha restoration event was coming up and on 5-21-16 there was an event called the “Culinary Journey".
- Jim Leonard was happy because his son was married over the weekend down in the Bay area
- John Sabo reminded us of the upcoming Foundation Dinner
- Lisa Poundstone was happy about winning the Best of South Sound for the 3rd year in a row in 2 categories. She was also happy about being in business for 7 years now
- Lynn Heinold was happy about Van Dorm Realty winning Best of South sound. She had a shout out for her Great Uncle who passed away last week and the care he received at Providence St. Peter.
- Mo Considine was happy about the recognition our club has gotten with the Youth Exchange. She also had a funny story about "Strepend Throat" regarding our Czech exchange student
- Bob Wubbena mentioned “Paul Newman’s Story: The Importance of Philanthropy in America Today”, an interesting event on 5-11-16 at the Performing Arts Center.
Announcements
- Judy Blinn checked on the Rotary Bling and was very impressed by the amount there was in the room. Denny Peterson wore his special rotary underwear.
- Next week is the last week before the dinner to wear our Bling!
- President Jack recognized Phyllis Mandel for her membership efforts.
- President Jack talked about the upcoming Bowling Tournament and the lack of "enthusiasm".
- Dan Lehuta shared a great story about "Daniece and Danephew".
- Tom Iovanne talked about "Dine Around" and passed around signup sheets.
- Terry Anderson auctioned off some really fresh eggs for the new season. Kim Dinsmore bought them for $25.
- Terry also auctioned off 4 tickets and a parking pass to an upcoming Mariners game for $150. Dennis Adams bought them.

He has 4 children with no head injuries yet but several orthopedic visits!!! There were lots of questions
