- Lori Woodland - Granddaughter (their first!) was born on Saturday. Marley Madison Woodland 8lbs. 5oz. 20" long
- Jim Leonard – Gave an update about the Nisqually Refuge walkway cleaning -- now planned to start at about 9:00am on 10/28 -- and welcomed any others with interest to join in with us.
- Gloria Strait - A plug for current Harlequin play, “Dry Powder”
- Oscar Soule – 10 days in Cuba watching baseball and enjoying Cuban life, 5 days in Vermont "leaf peeping" in the rain, and 5 days on Cape Cod with son, Adam, and family celebrating his 78th birthday.
- Colleen Gillespie - Celebrated 23 years of marriage on Oct. 14
- Bill Lahmann - 42nd anniversary and $60 for paying two years to the Centennial Committee.
- Jonathan Pleger - A great, sunny weekend camping trip to Salt Creek recreation area near Port Angeles and a thank you to the speakers for employing people with disabilities.
- Laurie Tebo – BHR Phoenix Awards on 11/6 7:00 AM at Indian Summer. No cost breakfast to celebrate clients.
- Matt DeBord – Told an amusing story about his daughter in church.
- Skip Steffen – Upcoming benefit show at the Washington Center this Saturday at 7:00 PM.

Program - Hiring People with Disabilities
Jim Balz introduced Shawna Harper, Morningside’s Program Director. She, in turn, introduced and panel on local employers or their representatives who have hired Morningside clients.

- Leonard Trabka – Trosper Self Storage
Each spoke about the empowering nature of work, highlighting clients’ increased self-confidence, community acceptance, team building, and achievement.
