Rotary Dues
Dues notices will go out today – there will be no increase in dues for next year ($430).  Well done Sean and incoming officers for working hard to negotiate the budget for next year.
Exchange Student Program Update
It was recommended that the program be suspended for the remainder of this year and through next year, out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of both students and the club. The board voted unanimously to approve this change. Thank you to Mo Considine and Rosemary Barnhart for your work leading this program.
Centennial Committee
The event will change, and updates will be forthcoming. The RFP submitted for art will continue as planned. Additionally, the Centennial book project is moving forward – thanks to Gerry Alexander and Chuck Fowler. More information on these books will be shared soon. The Lakefair Run might be postponed. A decision on this event will be made tonight, 6/1 and then communicated to the club and participants.  The September 12 dinner will be modified/postponed into 2021. What we know – we will launch our Centennial year celebration and we will adjust pieces as we navigate health and safety of our club members and guests.
Club Program Committee
Today at 4:00 pm, via Zoom. Jim Larson is our committee chair.
New Member Induction(s)
Laurie Tebo introduced Jean Clark, RN, BSN, MBA.  Jean has a 27-year track record of leading multiple complex healthcare organizations and is currently the CEO of Choice Regional Health Network and Cascade Pacific Action Alliance. Jean has moved to Olympia from Enumclaw, WA. President Colleen inducted Jean to our club and presented her with her new member credentials.
Program: Jim Balz’ Pilgrimage of Camino de Santiago in Spain
Jim compiled hundreds of pictures that he took into a video/power point presentation that he narrated for the club about the route, history, architecture and cultural experiences of the pilgrimage. The route spans the northern border of Spain. Jim travelled from Saint-Jean-Pied-au-Port to Pamplona to Logrono to Burgos to Leon to Oviedo to Ponferrada to Santiago de Compostela. Following the presentation Jim answered questions from the club. He shared that it was an amazing trip in that he met people from all around the world, and had a very moving experience. While he wouldn’t do the full trek again, he highly recommends others try all, or part of the pilgrimage.
If you’d like to see the presentation again, please contact Jim directly.
